"View Of Paris By Raymond Besse, Oil On Canvas"
Raymond Besse arrived in Paris in 1916. He participated for the first time in the Salon des Indépendants in 1923. He then participated in many other salons, including the Salon d'Automne. He many times represented the northern suburbs of Paris, Saint-Ouen, Montmartre and Clichy because he loved painting the area and his paintings are testimonies of life in the working-class neighborhoods during the first half of the century. Raymond Besse also created numerous works on the themes of Normandy and the Loire Valley. It was in Loir-et-Cher that he spent his last years and died in 1969. Signed lower right.
