silver nickel mount with one guard branch, pommel with SS rune, wooden fusee, hallmarks on the cope and under the guard. steel sheath painted black (several layers visible with dripping so surely repainted on top) silver nickel cover. blade with hollow sides. blade: 80 cm sword found with officer's strap in its condition (very worn, several period restorations) *officer's straps worn on a non-commissioned officer's sword were common and tolerated for midshipmen.
