"Blue Opaline Cup And Its Bronze Handle, Restoration"
Basket-shaped bowl in opal crystal called “linen blue” also known as “stick blue”. This blown opal crystal is obtained by adding cobalt oxide. The crystal is enhanced with stylized festoon motifs painted in gold and applied to the collar. This crystal is set in a pomponne setting. This frame includes a twisted handle representing two coiled snakes. The fastening system is decorated with a flower motif. Work from the beginning of the 19th century. Restoration. Circa 1820-1830.
