It is probable that these paintings were executed by the Lombard painter Margerita Caffi already praised by historians and critics in the eighteenth century and only recently has her work been partially traced and re-evaluated. Active in Milan, in the prolific workshop of his Burgundian father Vincenzo Volò, this family workshop is called "dei Vicenzini" and imposed its style from the mid-seventeenth century until the first quarter of the eighteenth century, strongly influencing the taste of Milanese collecting for still life .
The paintings have recently been relined and received no pictorial touch-ups during the restoration. They mount on posthumously finely carved frames.
The measurements of the canvases are: 100cm x 62cm; with frames 114cm x 77cm.
We enclose a certificate of authenticity with the sale.
