He began his career as a decorative painter, a path through which he discovered techniques and materials as well as composition. In the wake of Louis Auguste Auguin, Marius Gueit soon became a recognized landscape painter. It crisscrosses the Arcachon Basin, the Landes de Gascony, the Basque Country. Endowed with a real eye, Marius Gueit knows how to restore his feeling about nature in his compositions, he skillfully handles impasto, lights and shadows.
