"Syrian Tea Table Late 19th Century "
Lovely Syrian tea table from the end of the 19th century. It has four small tilting trays (on each side), and a lower tray. It is decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays (some gaps, formerly replaced by a white material) which light up the dark wood. This oriental furniture was very popular at the end of the 19th century, in villas around the Mediterranean, from Marseille to Beirut, evoking in their richness and fantasy a dreamed Orient. The furniture is perfectly stable.
