"Japanese Obi Late 19th Century "
Obi, traditional kimono belt, from the Meiji period, in embroidered silk, decorated with cranes and chrysanthemums. This iconic piece of the Japanese wardrobe is made up of two 35 cm strips of embroidered silk assembled to give a foldable width of 70 cm, and is a little over 4 meters long. the reverse side is not intended to be seen and bears traces of weaving. The colors are shimmering, the front is in good condition, the reverse showing threads. This lovely piece of silk is looking for its Madame Buterfly....
