Big gilded bronze reliquary cross, 19th century
This cross shows a chased decoration of the instruments of the Passion and is adorned in its center by a big radiating halo. Christ with a dark patina is depicted dead, the head resting to the right over the bust and arms slightly raising in a semi-circle. Each three top ends of the cross support a shell ornamented with foliages, and the lower end a little bead that can be unscrewed.
Unscrewed bead allows to open the cross that contains a brass cross with glazed compartments that includes the relics. On the back, six episcopal red wax seals close the relics and testify that they are authentic.
