Exceptional Double Patina Bronze Trim, In Patinated Bronze and Gilt Bronze, by Jean-François Denière (1774-1866). The circular dial is signed "Denière Fabt De Bronzes à Paris", which corresponds to Jean-François Denière (1744-1866) one of the most important Parisian bronze makers, during the last quarter of the 18th century and the first part of the following century. He worked for the Garde Meuble Impérial, as well as for a wealthy private clientele. The Candelabra present a Bouquet with 5 Lights, with Rich Decor of Winding Foliage, held by Cherubs with Dark Patina. The Clock is surmounted by a Draped Woman, leaning on an Antique Vase. Height of the Candelabra: 62 CM Height of the Clock: 48 CM Length of the Clock: 57 CM Weight: 42.5 KGS Maison Denière, created in 1804 by Jean-François Denière (1774–1866), was taken over in 1844 by the son, Guillaume Denière (1815 – 1903), is a specialist in furniture bronzes, such as candelabras, lights, torches, clocks and table tops. Building on its success, Maison Denière also partners with talented contemporary artists to publish their works. Bronzer of the reigning houses, Denière supplied the bronzes for the coronation carriage of Charles Dedicated to the Universal Exhibition of 1855 with a medal of honor, she was again rewarded at the Universal Exhibition of 1862. Her contributions to the Universal Exhibitions were always expected and noted, just like those of the Maison Barbedienne.
