"Chest Of Drawers - Fruit Wood With Four Drawers. Provincial Model. Louis XVI Period. Late 18th Century"
Superb chest of drawers from the late Louis XVI period, circa 1790-1795. Solid wood, perhaps cherry. The uprights of the facades in "pilaster" and rudentés. Straight lines and sharp edges in antique style. Low crosspiece with geometric patterns and Louis XVI bead motifs. In the center, an "antique-style" two-tone knot reminiscent of connecting dice with floral motifs. Thin drawer with grooves on the front, housed under the top. Three other drawers with bronze-brass handles framing circular beaded motifs and whose motifs are quite similar to those used somewhat late under the Empire (1804-1815). Keyholes framed with geometric patterns highlighted with pearls. The solid wood top. Lovely piece of furniture in warm, bright colors. Superb patina. Parquet in very good condition. First drawer: 43 cm/85 cm The other three: 41 cm/81 cm
