After studying political science and law, this porcelain painter's son became a lawyer. He treated for his doctorate the subject of copyright in painting and sculpture. After the Great War, from which he returned seriously injured, he devoted himself entirely to the arts he had already been practicing since 1905. From 1914 he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, mainly landscapes, but he was a jack-of-all-trades artistic. Glassware, ceramics, bindings, creator of ex-libris, Ballet seems to have vast skills that he developed throughout his life.
Our small panel made in Corrèze, is a cool landscape around Beaulieu sur Dordogne. The river flows to the right, and the point of view shows us the hills dominating the commune of Altillac. The pastel tones assembled by a long touch give a powerful rhythm to the work.
