"Thailand - Teak Sanctuary With Monk - 19th"
Very pretty Thai shrine carved in teak wood. It is made up of a base with flared tiers and a main altar with floral decoration surmounted by a flame. The interior is decorated with a figure of a monk carved separately from sandalwood. He is depicted standing on a lotus base wearing a long robe, benign face with a distinctive hairline, holding a rosary, a staff, a basket and a fan. Very good general condition. Period: 19th.
