19th century Switzerland A traditional Golden Headdress from eastern Switzerland near Lake Constance called Bodensee-Radhaube. Small fitted bonnet with flowers embroidered in gold blade, lined with an 18th century Indian Chafarcani type. The bottom surmounted by a brass-plated half-moon hoop is called the hubcap. It is covered with pleated metallic tulle and gold blade embroidery between the brass frames. Small black silk ribbon tied at the nape of the neck. Very slight damage to the black silk, otherwise the lace and gold blades are in very good condition, with their original foil. Dimensions: Diameter 30 cm. Height 20 cm. Leg width 36 cm.
