Magnificent Marine Painting Signed François Nardi (1861-1936)

Hello, I offer you this magnificent marine painting signed François Nardi, born in Nice on December 7, 1861, and died in Toulon in 1936, is a French painter of Italian origin and one of the masters of Provençal painting. François Nardi is a young self-taught painter from Toulon when he is noticed by Frédéric Montenard who gives him advice and encourages him to go to Paris. After a stint at the Académie Julian (1887-1889) and the exhibition of his works at the Salon des artistes français, he quickly enjoyed success that crossed borders with his landscapes of the Mediterranean and Provence. In his early days he had similarities with Claude Monet, his contemporary, but seemed to suffer little influence from the pictorial movements of his time. He nonetheless remains in a lineage close to the impressionists. At the height of his art, reversals of fortune took him away from Paris and art circles and prevented him from continuing the brilliant career he had led until then. Withdrawn to Toulon in 1909, he continued to paint until his death. His work includes more than 3,500 references, including paintings, oils on wood, watercolors and drawings.
