Object description :

"The Annunciation - Antwerp School From The 17th Century"
This touching work materializes the coming to earth of the angel Gabriel, announcing to Mary the Destiny of her son: “In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city in Galilee, called Nazareth, to a young virgin girl , granted in marriage to a man of the house of David, called Joseph; and the girl's name was Mary. The angel entered her home and said: “Hail, Full of grace, the Lord is with you. » At these words, she was completely overwhelmed, and she wondered what this greeting could mean. The angel then said to her: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son; you will give him the name Jesus. He will be great, he will be called Son of the Most High” The Holy Spirit sheds his gentle Light on this scene of great finesse and bright colors.
