Beautiful Pewter Ewer - Paris, 18th Century.

Pewter AIGUIERE with S-shaped throat, step-molded pedestal, pinched pouring spout and C-shaped handle with draped stock. It is decorated with two sticks at the top and at the base.
Control mark: P / ff crowned / 1707. (Paris initial P and ff for fine tin)
Incompletely affixed hallmark of Etienne BACQUET received master in 1680: E.BACQVET / ETIN FIN / sailboat: 1680.
Height: 24.8 cm.
PARIS, Between 1707 and 1715

Superb quality and condition.
This elegant model inspired by goldsmithing has been adopted by earthenware and glassmakers.
Etienne BACQUET died in 1713, his widow continued the activity until 1715 using the hallmark of her late husband.
Let us recall in passing that it was Louis XIII in 1643 who regulated the configuration of the master's mark and Louis XIV who established the control mark in 1691.
