"Civil Servants Revolution Costumes"
Suite of colored watercolor engravings representing the costumes of senior officials of the French Revolution of 1789. The engravings bear the words drawn and etched by chestnut. The costumes evoke those designed by Jacques Louis David and engraved by Dominique Vivant Denon in the revolutionary period and must follow them with the establishment of the directory. They are framed in modern oak baguettes and some have retained their old windows. They unfortunately present stains whose effect must be able to diminish. The five costumes represented are: The secretary of the executive board 33x21.5 cm The usher of the two councils 32.5x21.5 cm The representative of the people in office 33.7x21.7 cm The secretary of the two councils 33x21.7 cm The bailiff of the executive board 33.7x21.7 cm. The dimensions given are those of the engravings without a frame.
