VIGNON Victor Alfred Paul Born in 1847 / Death in 1909.Painter of landscape, still lives, watercolorist.
Around 1869 Victor VIGNON was the pupil of Camille Corot. Endowed with an extreme sensibility, colourer's remarkable qualities, Victor VIGNON translated the campaign with a touched charm, which touches profoundly. Victor VIGNON made in 1884 an exhibition which obtained a big success. It is interesting to note that this pupil of Camille Corot, also friendly of Adolphe Cals, was then the companion of Camille Pissarro and Cézanne to Auvers-sur-Oise in 1874-1876, and that he exposed with the impressionists from 1880 till 1886. Victor VIGNON thus constitutes a testimony concerning the badly known links which could exist between Corot and the painters of Barbizon, and the impressionists. Painter of still lives and landscapes, he used a precise drawing which separated him radically from his impressionistic companions.
