Unstamped, this armchair is quite singular because of this shape of back, in shield or escutcheon which is rarely found in the production of the seat in France at the end of the 18th century. Innovative in this stylistic detail, it already announces the shapes which made the fortune of Consulate period furniture. Condition report: Completely restored several years ago, the armchair has been glued back together, it is perfectly stable. The seat, the cuffs and the backrest have been redone in the old-fashioned way with horsehair. Elements of the carpentry were also glued back together.
