CD 11 Ricardo Gomez-Gimeno (1892-1954): “Fishermen's houses in Arès”, drawing with three pencils 17 Slight foxing. This set of drawings and watercolors comes from the same Landes collection, obviously all chosen with taste and framed with care and demonstrate a discernment that is as eclectic as it is qualitative. This beautiful artist, student of Auguin, of Spanish origin was nevertheless born in Bordeaux where he made a number of paintings and drawings, radiating as far as the Basque Country via the Landes and especially the Arcachon Bay, like these cabins here of fishermen under the pines on the edge of the Basin, signed located in Arès and dated 1926. The use of three pencils and the composition punctuated by the verticals of the pines and the barely visible escape onto the Ocean make it a very attractive work.
