It takes its name from a warrior from the time of Alexander. The energy which emanates from this fragment of torso and its proportions suggest an astonishing impression of monumentality. Born from the original look of the artist on the past, the Grépol combines classicism and modernity. A patina of very high quality has been developed by the artist for this work based on a travertine base.
Inspired by ancient statuary, Igor Mitoraj sculpts broken or cut fragments of busts, faces and body parts.
