"Small Chiffonnière Dressing Table Commode In Rosewood And Mahogany, Louis XVI – 18th Century"
Charming little all-sided piece of furniture in rosewood and mahogany marquetry. This piece of furniture has a false drawer on the upper part of the front with vertically positioned mahogany in the center, surrounded by a lemon tree fillet and a strip of miter-cut rosewood. Below, we find the same composition with alternating mahogany and rosewood. The locks are original with fitted brass keys and original bronze doorways. This second drawer allows for great storage depth. The top of this piece of furniture is made of mahogany veneer arranged in butterfly wings and a rosewood band surrounding it. The flap opens using brass dovetail hinges. We discover four identical lockers, a larger one in the center and an original beveled mirror. This piece of furniture rests on legs inlaid with a background of mahogany, rosewood and ebony on all sides with a turned brass collar in the upper part and brass shoes in the lower part. This elegant piece of furniture will charm you with its marquetry and its wood species, as well as its bronze ornamentation. ******** Period: 18th Century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
