"Memento Mori Or Crane Palindrome Sator"
So there, there would be so much to tell that it is better not to start except that this skull is a facsimile of the magic square discovered in the excavations of Pompeii... the reason for which remains a mystery until today and which gives rise to pages and pages of assertions of which here are some pasted and copied from the internet: It is nicknamed the magic square and for good reason. The Sator square is an inscription which consists of a Latin palindrome “sator arepo tenet opera rotas” A palindrome is a word or a set of words which can be read from left to right or from right to left while keeping the same meaning. There have been numerous inscriptions of this magic square since Antiquity. And since then this formula has continued to intrigue researchers even if many hypotheses have been considered. The oldest trace of this inscription was discovered in the ruins of Pompeii and has been dated to around 79 AD. The word sator which can mean plowman or creator. The word rotas refers to the wheel or cycle. The word arepo is annoying because we don't know of a Latin translation, but in Gallic it can name the plow. The word opera translates to work. The square sator thus spread in Europe and among the populations. We find the inscription on amulets as a magic formula which was used to cure rabies or snake bites, to help women give birth... Some researchers argue that the sator square served as a mark of recognition for Christians . A cryptogram therefore used as the symbol of the fish as a sign. Furthermore, the word tenet being in the shape of a cross, the allusion is easy. It was even found in a Bible dating from 822. The letters could also form the anagram “Pater Noster” or Our Father. But for now, no one has really managed to unravel the secrets and origins that surround In Latin, the order of the words does not matter for the meaning. Changing the reading order has no impact on comprehension, hence the strength and enigma of this square. Long studied, the possible translations of the sentence composed by this set of words are numerous. “The plowman with the plow steers the wheels skillfully” or “the plowman carefully holds the wheels of his plow” Or on a more religious side: “The creator keeps the work of rotation” or “the cycle of the life". Good reflection... scale 1:1
