Oil on canvas, signed lower left, representing a schooner in the port of Concarneau around 1930. Dimensions of the canvas 61x50cm. Framed in an American box. The painting is referenced in Marine Delpy's catalog under the number 1732. A student of the Beaux Arts in Paris, Delpy moved to a workshop in Montmartre in 1923, then discovered Brittany in 1924 which would have a lasting influence his work . He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and obtained several awards there, including a medal in 1927 as well as several prizes for his "colonial" works. Appointed official painter of the Navy in 1931; then Army painter in 1945, he is especially recognized today for his Finisterian landscapes and marine themes.
