Large Patinated Bronze "Vercingetorix and Young Gaul" Signed "E.LAPORTE" and dated 1884. This is a large French bronze sculpture representing Vercingetorix with his son, dating from around 1890. The attention to detail is absolutely fantastic and the sculpture is extremely realistic. Created by E.LAPORTE (1858-1907) The standing figure of Vercingétorix wearing a winged helmet, his arm raised pointing towards the distance, a figure of his son at his side, holding an ax in his right hand, Cartouche "Salon des beaux arts" No. 3659.
