Pair of polished bronze candlesticks from the first part of the 17th century; the base consists of a bell of hexagonal section with six slightly convex degressive faces in a petticoat, each decorated with a decoration of alternating foliage in full and half resting on a terrace where six boulle feet are interlocked. A flat angular intermediate cup decorated with six winged putti at each of the six corners, punctuates the periphery, encircling a deep circular groove. The barrel is made up of a central ringed baluster supporting the binet; this is mounted on a ringed cylindrical pedestal. The barrel and binet assembly is decorated with chevrons and stylized foliage. Work from the beginning of the 17th century from the Holy Roman Empire, Germany or Flanders.
