Pierre-Simon-Benjamin Duvivier, born on November 5, 1730 in Paris where he died on July 10, 1819, is a French medalist, 13th general engraver of coins.
He is the son of medalist Jean Duvivier and the brother of painter and engraver Thomas-Germain-Joseph Duvivier.
In 1774, he bought the office of general engraver of coins from Joseph Charles Roëttiers, who had regained possession of it at the death of his son. It was revoked by the decree of 12 and 21 May 1791 abolishing the currency offices.
This original matrix is in good condition (state of use).
These matrices were normally destroyed after use, it is intact.
