"Reliquary On Embroidered Silk - Mid 19th Century"
Saint Louis, in enhanced engraving produced by the HOCQUART family in Paris (active from approximately 1800 to 1865), is surrounded by six distinct relics, resting on an original white silk embroidered with flowers. We welcome plots of Saint François de Sales, Saint Chantal, Saint Marguerite-Marie Alacoque, three saints who suggest that the Visitandines are in the spotlight in this reliquary. Finally Saint Boniface, martyr, coexists with Holy relics and a fragment of a Paschal candle solemnly blessed by the Pope (Agnus Dei).
The whole in a gilded and carved wooden frame.
Used condition, missing in the frame, probably subsequently reported due to absence of glass.
Dimensions of 28 cm by 23.
