"Uncovered Pitcher, In Pewter. Rouen. 18th Century."
Shoulder shape, plinth base. The lid was intentionally and formerly removed to facilitate sustained use. The modified knuckles have become a thin, triangular thumb rest. On the cup, gauge mark: T with fleur-de-lys. Inside the plinth: city control mark with illegible vintage. This is the first uncovered pitcher from ROUEN that we have come across in 50 years of prospecting, and it seems, based on proof to the contrary, that this production center has never manufactured one, not originally transformed. Height: 20.6 cm. Old and discreet fillings in the belly. Speckled, clear, silky patina. Period: 18th century. Good condition. Free shipping by COLISSIMO for mainland France.
