GRÜN - Visit of Emile LOUBET to the Colonies.
Very large original drawing in Chinese shadows (480 x 640 mm), ink and highlights with white gouache and blue colored pencil, on Canson & Montgolfier paper from the Vidalon-les-Annonay paper mills, watermarked.

Drawing bearing a stamp of the artist's signature at the bottom left and a stamp on the reverse, affixed during the Grün sale at Maître Dupuis, J.-P. Camard expert.

Central fold otherwise a good copy.

Jules Grün (1868-1938), French painter, illustrator and poster artist.

Emile Loubet, President of the Republic from 1899 to 1906, made an official trip to Algeria and Tunisia in April 1903, it was certainly on this occasion that Grün executed this drawing.
