A grimacing chimera, long neck erect sitting on its seat, poised on a very graphic base resting on its five feet on which an ornamental pencil holder or stirrup light. The flight of this piece is incredible and the ornamentation, in particular of the base which on the front has a head with bat wings on an openwork base and very specific to Art Nouveau born at the very end of the 19th century in the north-eastern Europe, particularly in Austria, where people excelled in this field at the turn of the two centuries.
