Superb Louis XIII walnut cabinet, late 17th century, early 18th century.
it is made up of three parts:
a low base forming a box with two large drawers, it rests on loaf feet, height 51 cm.
the body itself opens with two doors separated by a fixed frame, height 147 cm.
an imposing cornice, height 19 cm.
This cabinet is richly worked, it is decorated with detached columns and diamond points in strong relief. look closely at the work of carving the diamond points on the doors, work of remarkable quality in very strong relief.
the locks were changed in the 19th century.
the cornice is crenellated and rich in moldings.
there is a significant recess between the body and the base.
the shelves were recently redone as well as part of the funds a long time ago.
some small restorations from use and maintenance. very beautiful waxed patina.
This cabinet was not attacked by wood-eating insects but a preventive treatment with xylophene was carried out in the workshop.
very nice assembly work with miter cuts, doweling and dovetails.
a pleasure to assemble and disassemble, it has been completely overhauled.
a superb cabinet with magnificent diamond points, probably from Burgundy.
