"Commode Armchair, Convenience Chair, Louis XV / Louis XVI Transition Period, 18th Century Circa 1770"
Large Transition period commode, 18th century, circa 1770. In waxed beech, this armchair has a cane back and a double cane seat. The floor of the headquarters was redone during the 20th century (see last photo) the interior is covered with white paper. The armrests are covered in undyed natural leather, probably original, with old stains. This armchair is in good general condition and of good structure, however the upper canework of the seat is slightly loose and has some accidents / small cracked stitches (see photos). The previous owners had a thick custom-made cushion made, allowing them to retain the original seat canework while still being able to sit on the seat and add a touch of comfort.
