Parisian Night, Around 1920 - Pierre De Belair -

The iridescent light of the street lamp and the colored lights of the brasseries reveal the mysterious shadows of night life on a boulevard in Paris during the 20th, illuminating silhouettes around a Maurice column.
The electric and dark atmosphere of the night is superbly rendered by the painter Pierre de Bélair, reminding by the graphism the works on Paris of Constantin Korovine.

Pierre de Bélair was born in Lyon on October 29, 1892 and died on April 17, 1956 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.
He is a student of Flameng, Jean-Paul Laurens and Déchenaud.
Pierre de Bélair is a portrait painter, decorator and poster designer.
He became a member of the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
He has exhibited in Lyon, Paris, Tunis, London, New York and Germany.
He presented at the 1929 show: “Coulisse du cirque” and “Terrace de brasserie”.
