"Four Empire Candlesticks , Sterling Silver, Liège 1814-31, Guillaume Drion"
Extremely rare series of four Empire style candlesticks in solid silver. They all bear the master goldsmith's mark of the most famous Liège goldsmiths of the 19th century: Guillaume Drion. He is at the origin of an entire dynasty of Liège goldsmiths. He began his career under the Ancien Régime but is best known for his production of goldsmithery from the Empire and Charles X periods. The four identical candlesticks are in perfect condition. Three of them are hallmarked with Liège guarantee hallmarks from the period 1814-1831. The fourth bears the guarantee mark of the following period and dates from after 1831. All four have detachable nozzles . The series weighs more than two kilos.
