Alexandre Brun was a marine, portrait and genre scene painter born in Marseille 1854 and died in 1941. Student of Cabanel, Carolus Durand and Machard. He debuted at the Salon in 1877 and exhibited in London at the Royal Academy in 1881 and 1882.
