Painter, illustrator, poet, decorator. Son of the painter Edouard Dubufe (1819-1883), grandson of the painter Claude-Marie Dubufe (1790-1864). Born in Paris, died during a trip to Buenos Aires. Son and student of Edouard, then of Mazerolle, he exhibited at the salon between 1877 and 1909. The family made long stays in their large villa of Anacapri on the island of Capri in Italy, where Dubufe created paintings representing his house and which will be exhibited in 1906 at the Georges Petit gallery in Paris. It seems that he also worked there from 1888 to 1890 on a series of large paintings on the Virgin Mary. This is probably a sketch for his creations on the Virgin Mary.
