Sculptor born in Volterra in Tuscany, active in France at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, he often worked in marble. He made this large head of a young blonde girl with vine branches in her hair for the sculpture wholesaler Nardi. In effect, this beautiful grape harvester is a modernised bacchante. It is quite rare to find this type of polychrome head dating from the Belle Époque in such beautiful condition.
