This young woman, kneeling and naked, is the work of a lover of femininity, René Lelong exalts grace and delicacy, and magnifies the elegance of a naked body. Justin Édouard René Lelong is a French painter, born in Arrou on April 1, 1871 and died in Lavardin on August 7, 1933. He was a painter of figures, animated landscapes, flowers, he was also a watercolorist, he illustrated numerous books and magazines and created advertising posters. He received teaching from the Julian Academy, and exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français of which he was a member from 1898. He received a third class medal in 1895. He painted the women and elegant ladies of “La Belle Epoque ". The Museum of Fine Arts in Chateaudun preserves: “one evening” oil on canvas from 1901 and the Museum of Fine Arts in Narbonne preserves: “the omnibus of the sultanas”.
