Exceptional large covered vegetable tureen in solid silver from the Restoration period. Circular in shape, it presents applied borders of pearls and water leaf motifs, magnificent and elegant handles with palmettes and fleurons. Monogrammed body and lid. The finial on the domed lid representsa crown in the form of cornucopias brimming with flowers and fruit and rests on an openwork terrace alternating vine leaves and bouquets of ears of wheat accented with florets.Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, it is punched with the 1st Standard Hallmarks called "Vieillard" (.950) and guarantee for PARIS 1819-38, marks of Master Goldsmith Marc-Augustin LEBRUN ( Hallmark with the initials "ML" and a weather vane and an eagle) active 1810 to 1821, with in addition his Signature in full “LEBRUN”. This exceptional covered tureen from the Restoration period is in excellent condition, inspected and cleaned by our silversmith, and just micro-scratches from use to note. Absolutely beautiful...
