"17th Century Painting With Party And Concert In A Palace"
This fascinating painting, made with oil tempera on walnut tablet and framed in a thick frame, represents a lively scene of celebration and concert in the palace. At the center of the work, a man in an exotic hat plays the archlute while the other three characters around him sing, as indicated by the sheet music in the hand of one of the women. The characters' clothes are typical of the seventeenth century and the work is clearly inspired by Flemish taste. The artist who created this painting was an Italian master active around the 17th century and his ability to capture the liveliness and atmosphere of a party is evident in every detail.
