Henri Pascault (1900-1991) “Basque village scene” Oil on panel signed lower right L: 37cm x H: 54 cm Biography of Henri Pascault (1900-1991): Cibourian painter, Henir Pascault descends from a family of fishermen from Hondarribia by his mother. Studio and outdoor painter, regionalist painter and traveler, renowned for never seeking to sell or exhibit his works, this autodidact described himself as a “sympathizer of art”. His painting is lively, colorful, with a rich paste. He mainly painted small and medium formats. From 1948 Henri Pascault took care of his mother's hotel, "Arrintuzuna", in Ciboure, while bringing back his travels in the Basque Country and the Mediterranean basin drawings, sketches, and sketches, sometimes humorous. He is also the author of wood sculptures, mosaics and stained glass windows.
