Ghom rug measuring 132 cm wide by 203 cm long, hand-knotted in Iran around 1980 in perfect condition.
The beginning of the manufacturing of Ghom carpets took place in this city around 1920/1930 on the initiative and perseverance of the knotters and merchants of Kashan.

The manufacturing of these beautiful, very resistant carpets is certainly recent but the skillful and precise knotters as well as the "Ostads" cardboard designers have imposed their know-how thanks to perfection of their work and the breadth of the range of designs and colors.
Second holy city of Iran, 150 km from Tehran, Ghom is a major theological center.
The knot used is the Persian knot tied very tightly on very fine wool.
Decors of plants, flowers, intertwined plants and animals, as well as the use of wool mixed with silk, are used regularly. Each type of design remains stylized and the use of colors on the gohm is always very harmonious.
Our model presents a geometric medallion placed next to other medallions, its field is covered with flowers, the whole gives us the impression of a garden Persian or French, flowerbeds, central fountain, paths give great symmetry to the whole.
Marketing is done under several names: Qom, Ghom, Gom, Qum, Kum, and Ghoum.
