BRONZE "THE DONKEY CAP PENITENCE" AFTER NICOLAS LECORNET 1880 / 1884 UNSIGNED BRONZE ON MARBLE BASE FULL DETAIL ON THE CAP (SEE PHOTOS) dim: 38 cm high for the whole x 32 cm bronze alone and the base 10 cm x 10 cm 1880-1884). Nicolas Lecornet known as "Lecorney" is a French sculptor born in Gourgeon (Haute-Saône). His work is part of the artistic tradition of the Second Empire (allegories, ancient subjects, neo-Renaissance, figures of children and young girls, etc.) which he mainly exhibited at the Salon between 1880 and 1884.
