"Louis XVI Period Mirror In Golden Wood. "
Period mirror, Louis XVI, of Provençal origin. The pediment is composed of a large wooden bow representing ribbon trimmings which surrounds a small oval frame and its mirror and vine branches as well as two garlands of laurel leaves which descend along the uprights, Paint reserves blue-green frame the mercury mirror, in each corner round macaroons on a striated background, the moldings are sculpted with acanthus leaves and oblong pearls on the other. We can notice that on the mirror a candle has moved too close to the mirror and has left its mark. The gilding, mirror and back are original.
