Rare and very beautiful Breton fireback. Decorated with ermine and the Breton motto written in Latin: "Potius mori quam foedari" "rather death than defilement" or in Breton "keutoc'h mervel eget bezan saotret". Old plaque probably 19th century. Some wear, particularly on the back, but good general condition.
