Magnificent intaglio depicting the profile of Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician from the 5th century BC. In front of his bust is the caduceus, composed of a rod around which the serpent of Asclepius, the god of medicine, coils.

The intaglio is set in an elegant gold ring with a raised bezel, and the shoulders are engraved with scrolls.
