"Jean Ducayer, Active Between 1605-1630, Portrait Of A Lady Of Quality As Saint Cecilia."
Portrait of a lady as Saint Cecilia, oak panel, two boards, not parqueted. Curved (convex) panel. Very good condition, healthy and clean pictorial layer. Height 34.8 cm, width 26.5 cm. Elegant small portrait of a lady as Sainte Cécile, on oak panel, by Jean Ducayer, active in France probably between 1605 and 1635. Although we have little information on this painter, he seems to have essentially produced portraits of ladies, queens and princesses. His works on panel have characteristic dimensions of approximately 35 x 26 cm. Typical of the production of Ducayer, known for his portraits of ladies with idealized physiognomy, our work also takes these dimensions of 35 x 26 cm.
