Burma, 19th century, very pretty and ancient Mandalay Buddha in carved and gilded wood on a black lacquer background. He is seated in the position of “taking the earth as witness” (Bhûmisparsha-Mudrà). Certain parts of his body and his clothes are enhanced with a fine coral red net on a gold background highlighting the beauty of the details. Beautiful patina of use. Height 15.8 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone. Good condition except for slight wear to the gilding.
