"Masonic Box"
Circular box with Masonic subject on the lid, late 19th century period. Made of tortoiseshell veneered on the outside with elm burl. Beautiful gouache composition in a square with cut corners under glass on the lid. The slightly curved glass has micro-scratches from use. Closure by interlocking. This miniature under glass represents several subjects attributed to Freemasonry such as the square, the ruler, the flaming star, sword, sash etc. Good state of conservation overall.
